1. Who We Are
EDGE is operated by Žygimantas Ozolas (the “Controller”), who is the controller of personal data that EDGE processes directly for the purposes of applicable data protection law. In this Privacy Policy, “EDGE,” “we,” “us” and “our” refer to the Controller.
Some service providers we rely on act as independent controllers for the processing they carry out under their own legal responsibilities, for example Paddle when acting as Merchant of Record for payments, and Google when you choose to sign in with a Google account. Section 6 explains this in more detail.

2. Scope
This policy applies to joinedge.app, the EDGE web application, EDGE user accounts, and support communications related to EDGE. It does not apply to third-party websites or services you may reach through links from EDGE, which are governed by their own privacy policies.
3. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information:
Account information: your email address, display name, and authentication identifiers created when you sign up.
Google OAuth: if you choose to sign in with Google, we receive the basic identity information Google makes available for that sign-in (typically your name, email address and profile identifier). We do not request access to your Gmail, Google Drive, or any other Google data beyond what is needed to verify your identity.
Trading journal content: the trades you record (such as instrument, direction, size, entry, stop-loss and take-profit levels, planned and realized R-multiples, profit or loss, setup, session, and your own quality ratings, notes and reflections), your daily journal entries (such as market bias, energy and emotional state, key levels, your plan for the session, and lessons learned), any screenshots you upload, and the statistics and insights EDGE calculates from this data.
Preferences: appearance and color theme, display currency, focus mode settings, your default instrument, and your saved Risk Calculator defaults (such as market type, account size and preferred risk settings).
Technical and security information: authentication and session information needed to keep you signed in securely, and standard technical request information (such as IP address and request metadata) collected automatically by our infrastructure providers for security and reliability purposes.
Billing information: EDGE does not collect or store your full payment card details. When you subscribe to a paid plan, payments are handled directly by Paddle, our Merchant of Record. EDGE may receive subscription and payment status information (such as whether your subscription is active, trialing, past due or cancelled) needed to manage your access to the service.
Support communications: anything you send us at support@joinedge.app, including any attachments you choose to include.
4. Why We Use Personal Data
To provide EDGE (performance of a contract): creating and authenticating your account, storing and displaying your journal data, generating statistics and insights, saving your preferences, and managing subscription access once billing is enabled.
Legitimate interests: keeping EDGE secure, preventing fraud and abuse, debugging problems, and maintaining the reliability of the service.
Legal obligations: complying with applicable law, and accounting or payment-related obligations that arise once subscriptions are processed through Paddle.
Consent: EDGE does not currently rely on consent for any processing described in this policy, because we do not run marketing communications or non-essential analytics. If that changes in the future, we will ask for your consent separately before any such processing begins.
5. Trading Journal Data
You choose what trading information you enter into EDGE, and what any screenshots you upload contain. We process this information only to provide the journal, analytics and Risk Calculator features you use.
EDGE does not use your journal entries to execute trades, place orders, or make investment decisions on your behalf. It has no connection to any brokerage or trading account, and never will without a separate, explicit feature you opt into.
6. Service Providers
We rely on the following service providers to run EDGE:
- Supabase: authentication, our PostgreSQL database, and private file storage for trade screenshots.
- Resend:transactional email delivery used for authentication and account-related emails, including email confirmation, password reset and email-change messages, sent through Supabase Auth's custom SMTP integration.
- Vercel: hosting and infrastructure for the EDGE web application.
- Google:sign-in, only when you choose to use “Sign in with Google.”
- Paddle: Merchant of Record, checkout, payment processing, subscription billing, tax handling, and refund or cancellation processing once paid plans are enabled.
Where a provider processes personal data independently under its own legal responsibilities (most notably Paddle, which acts as the seller of record for your purchase and handles buyer data under its own privacy terms), that provider is responsible for its own processing, and EDGE does not control it.
7. International Data Transfers
Some of the service providers listed above may process your information in countries other than the one you live in, including outside the European Economic Area. Where this happens and safeguards are legally required, the relevant provider applies the lawful transfer mechanism appropriate to that transfer, such as an adequacy decision, Standard Contractual Clauses, or another safeguard recognized under applicable data protection law.
8. Data Retention
We keep your account and journal data for as long as your EDGE account remains active. If you delete your account, your data is deleted as described in Section 9 below, subject to any technical processes needed to complete that deletion and any limited retention required for security or legal reasons.
Transaction and billing records are retained by Paddle in accordance with Paddle's own obligations and policies. Limited logs or backups may persist for a short period after deletion where necessary for security, backup, legal or operational reasons.
9. Account Deletion
You can delete your EDGE account at any time from your account settings. When you do, EDGE first removes your uploaded screenshots from storage, then permanently deletes your authentication record, which cascades the deletion of your trades, daily journal entries, profile, saved preferences, and any badges associated with your account.
As with most cloud services, this does not guarantee instantaneous erasure from every backup system; residual copies may persist briefly in backups before they are cycled out in the ordinary course of our infrastructure providers' operations.
10. Your Rights
If you are located in the European Economic Area, the UK, or another jurisdiction with similar data protection law, you have rights over your personal data, including the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to our processing of it, request a portable copy of it, and withdraw consent for any processing that relies on consent.
To exercise any of these rights, email support@joinedge.app. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.
11. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including authenticated access to your account, database access controls that isolate your data from other users' (row-level security), and a private storage bucket for screenshots that is never publicly accessible. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of your information.
12. Children
EDGE is intended for people aged 18 or older. We do not knowingly offer EDGE to children or minors under 18. If you believe a person under 18 has provided us with personal data, please contact support@joinedge.app and we will address it.
13. Cookies and Local Storage
EDGE uses essential, first-party storage only. Signing in sets an authentication/session cookie so you stay signed in; this is strictly necessary for the service to work and isn't used for tracking. EDGE also stores your preferences (such as theme, currency and Risk Calculator defaults) and some working data (such as your saved economic calendar events and review history) in your browser's local storage, so the app remembers your settings between visits.
EDGE does not currently use analytics or advertising cookies, and does not share this local data with any third party. If that ever changes, we will update this section and, where required, ask for your consent first.
14. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make a material change, we will take reasonable steps to let you know, such as an in-app notice or an email to your account address. The “Last updated” date at the top of this policy always reflects the most recent version.
